The Premiere episode of The Humber FIles
aired this past week on Radio Humber and with it, we are debuting this blog as
a way to recap the goings on of the show, and to interact with you the
listener. Each week a blog post will be
put up here after each episode with links to our community page so you too can
join in on the discussion.
This week’s episode entitled “The Big
Strike” was a hilarious film noire style parody of the 5 week strike we were
all forced to endure. It follows our
questionable role model, Private Investigator Johnny Noir (Danny Mags), who
reluctantly takes a case to solve who exactly is behind the strike. The plot features a colorful cast of
characters who themselves are commentary of past events here at Humber
highlighted by the Cockroach (Daniel Tersigni), who may be my personal favorite
character.
Before we get to the spoiler discussion part of this post, I have a special treat for you. Radio Humber went behind the scenes for the making of the first episode of The Humber Files.
Every edition of this blog will feature a fun fact related to each episode. This week's fun fact: Did you know, that the idea of doing a film noire radio drama came from the HD release of the video game L.A. Noire developed by Rockstar.
That's it for the spoiler free portion of this post. Give us a follow on twitter and enjoy the episode!! And if you are craving more film noire awesomeness, check out AMC's Filmsite. It's a great site to check out for more information on all things film noire

~~~~~*****WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD******~~~~~
Noir discovers that the Cockroach is his
only real lead and is forced to work with the criminal in order to solve the
case. There is history between the two,
as the Cockroach was the mastermind behind the Norovirus plague of 37, which
resulted in Johnny Noir capturing the villain.
With Cockroaches help, the trail leads Noir to the culprit of the Strike
Ashlyeen Lynn (Pina Crispo) who has been laundering the student’s money for her
campaigns, and used the strike for her own personal gain.
All in all, this was a fun introduction to
a series I am personally looking forward too.
I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Johnny Noir and any reoccurring
characters get themselves into in future episodes.
At the end of this episode, we are given a
little teaser into next week, where Johnny’s assistant claims she has a problem
with Werewolves….
Werewolves!? Are there actually mythical creatures within
the student population, or is this crazy talk from the mind of a delusional
secretary? Come join our community to
give your opinion and theories on what happens next and tune in next week to
find out for yourselves on The Humber Files!
